Sylvie Lewis
Sylvie Lewis discovered her passion for music early on, inspired by the rich stories and lyrics of jazz standards and musicals. A pivotal moment in her musical journey came at fourteen when she recorded songs with Sir George Martin, who emphasized the importance of melody in songwriting. This advice shaped her career and led her to explore various genres and refine her craft.
Although she initially pursued jazz at Berklee College of Music, Sylvie soon realized her true calling was in songwriting. Her talent for lyricism and melody led her to collaborate with notable figures such as Bob Ezrin and Richard Swift. Together with Swift, she produced her first album, "Tangos and Tantrums," followed by two more albums. Sylvie's dedication to her craft saw her touring extensively, performing anywhere she could, and gaining a reputation for her heartfelt, authentic music.
Sylvie's career highlights include her time with L’orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, a world music ensemble that toured globally and won a David di Donatello award. She also collaborated with Sondre Lerche on the soundtrack for “The Sleepwalker” and co-wrote songs with Norwegian pop star Marit Larsen. Her music has been featured on "Grey’s Anatomy" and in films like "Barney’s Version" and "Gabriele Muccino’s L’ultimo bacio."
After years of living and creating in Rome, Sylvie returned to the UK, where she continued to evolve her sound. Her latest album, "Lives Wisely," produced by Jonah Tolchin, marks a significant return to recording and showcases her growth as an artist. Sylvie has shared stages with artists such as Jesse Winchester, Dawn Landes, and Anais Mitchell, and she continues to captivate audiences with her storytelling and melodic prowess.
